Another test I did trying to study mechanical stuff , was looking at John Park stuff . Really like the way he handles material indication. definitely picking up little bits information from lots of different artists and seeing how I can incorporate it into my own style. Thanx for looking

Mech Warm Up Practice

Here is a mech warm up I did before work started, this is my second attempt. I am starting to get more comfortable with it! Hopefully the next one will be better! Been pulling crazy hours at work , but our game is finally looking cool! So its hard work well spent. Gotta get to work , thanx for looking!

Mech Study

Trying study how to draw mechs , this one sucks lol , but I learned a good deal about edge control , hopefully my second try will be better! thanx for looking

Meetin Sketches

So I am not the best at paying attention during meetings so I usually draw :) . The top page on the left side are studies from Manchu's sketchbook ( which is an awesome book if you wanna get into spaceships) . Right side is me trying to deviant into my own designs. Middle page is just random spaceship sketches . I started to slowly develop my own voice while doing these . Vehicles is a weakness of mine so I am trying to study up on it. Last page is just random doodles here and there. Anyways enjoy!!

Character Practice

Never do any characters so I decided to practice painting one. Have been busy with freelance at the moment . I should have thought a lil more about design . okay a lot more , but it was kind of late night thing . Started sketching and then painted whatever I felt . I have much to learn about such things , so more will be to come . Still got to upload those textures : )

Vacation Sketches

Got the storyboard books , so I am still reading those . Soon I hope to have some story boards uploaded ! I am probably gonna take a class on it in the summer or spring at the CAD . I'll be taking the environment class one for sure. In the meantime here are some sketches while on the way to Germany and some before . Amazing experience !! Architecture is amazing so I will upload some pictures and stuff for everyone. I am definitely ready to get back to work !! 2009 is going to be great . Keep moving forward.

Level Up

Its crazy to think I have only been doing this for 8 months. I was looking at old sketches I did a few months around April ish . I look at them and I was like wtf was I thinking . I still think now but not at much . So I decided to take a few of them and re draw them for fun . Learned a good deal as usual . Enjoy

Eliminating weaknesses one day at a time

did some sketches of a swampy/ forest like environment . I did a couple preliminary sketches to get my ideas out of paper as well as composition. I wanted to be very loose which was kind of hard because I'm used to a more tighter style . But like Carlo said I must eliminate my weaknesses

Practice

Practice Makes Permanent . I officially made it a habit to attend life drawing 3 times a week . I think Charles Hu is getting rather sick of me but that guy is legit! Such a huge inspiration and it makes me want to do life drawing everyday. It really it is the key to being a skilled concept artist. I hope I can get enough money to go to the Gary Myers Workshop at his studio.
